But if you have booked the Pink Ladies Glam Van, ordinary rain does not mean the pamper party is off: our van is fully enclosed and can operate in most normal weather conditions. The part worth planning is getting everyone to the party and giving the van a suitable place to park.
So, keep the birthday excitement. Give the practical bits ten minutes of attention. The forecast has already had quite enough of your day.

Nail painting, face gems, hair art and karaoke are part of the Pink Ladies birthday experience. You are arranging a Glam Van visit, not trying to keep an entire garden party under an umbrella. That is a useful distinction when you are picturing the afternoon.
Before we arrive, picture the short journey from your front door to the van. A spot for guests to wait, somewhere for wet coats and a quick word to arriving parents can make that little handover easier. These are useful things to think through around the visit; nobody needs a laminated running order for a birthday.
A clear message to guests is more useful than a running commentary on the forecast. Let them know where to arrive and what you have arranged. Keep the colour commentary for the nails.
Give the Glam Van a proper parking spot
What we need from you is a suitable, legal place to park and access to power. It is not the most glamorous item on the birthday list, but it is the one that lets the Glam Van do its thing.
Our vans are rear-wheel drive, so we cannot park on grass, bark or another surface where the vehicle could become stuck. That lovely patch of lawn might win on photographs. For parking a Glam Van, it is a firm no.
Choose the actual spot you have in mind before the day. If you are unsure about the surface, access or positioning, talk it through with us. There is more value in that conversation than in keeping your fingers crossed that a nearby space will do. We can also bring the party somewhere other than home, provided there is suitable legal parking and the required facilities.
You will need to give us access to a suitable power supply, so work out where it is and bring any access questions to us beforehand. Parking and power are the practical foundation; the pink robes are considerably more photogenic, but they cannot do that job.
Let the entrance suit the day
We love a little birthday theatre, and a red-carpet entrance is part of that picture when space, road safety and weather allow. Talk it up as a possible flourish, with the birthday excitement centred on what happens inside.
Perhaps your child is already imagining the nails, the hair art or the karaoke. There is your conversation starter. The entrance gets the party going; it does not have to carry the whole birthday on its shoulders.
